Carrots In A Saucepan 5 in. x 7 in. Oil On Panel - Bid on or buy this painting.
The subject is a bunch of carrots in a stainless steel saucepan. This is the first time that I have used carrots as the main subject of a painting. I really liked the effect of the bright orange of the carrots contrasted with the blues and grays reflected in the pot. Keeping that in mind I felt that the bright color of the carrots and the reflections of the pot were enough to complete the composition, so I stayed with a bluish gray background and the whitish counter top with no other parts to the composition other than the green stalks flowing down and across the painting. I'm very happy with the outcome. I hope that you like them too.
