Mason Jar Daisies 8 in. x 10 in. Oil On Panel - Bid on or buy this painting.
The subject is wild daisies in a Ball Mason Jar. The idea for this painting came to me May 4. I was out scouting around the countryside a few miles from my house looking for something interesting to paint over the weekend. I stopped the truck and got out to look at a field and a tree line and eventually realized that I was standing in a patch of these things by the side of the road. I cut a bunch and brought them home and was going to put them in a jar with water just to keep them fresh until I decided if I wanted to paint them later. But when I did they really blew me away. I never really even arranged them, they looked so good to me just stuck in the jar. While I was painting I was really interested in the light and shadows on the flowers and the way that the stems looked in the water. This was a really fun painting to do. I hope that you like it.
