If you are under 25 you may not even recognize this! It is an old Boston pencil sharpener from the 60's. This is something that my wife bought years ago and I thought that it would make an interesting subject. Mostly I was attracted to the shape of the sharpener and the old somewhat tarnished steel. This is a painting of an old stainless steel brush vase and a handful of old brushes. I probably have several hundred brushes that I have used over the years that I keep stored away for some unknown reason. This group was in the vase in one of my cabinets and I thought they would make an interesting painting. I also have a new Fresnel light light that I'm now using which throws subtle shadows across the subject that I'm hoping came through in the painting. I hope that you enjoy it!

Landscape - Hobbiton

This is a different type of painting for me. I typically have not painted subjects in the fantasy genre. However my son and I both are fans of Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit, and he wanted a painting of Hobbiton. As it turned out this was a fun painting to create. I used numerous photographs that I compiled as reference and then basically created the painting from my imagination. I hope that you enjoy it!
