This is a pear sitting on a silver Ball jar ring in front of a wooden background. Using heavy shadows and direct side lighting is one of my favorite ways to set up a composition. I thought that the ring from the Ball jar lid helped make for an interesting composition as well as adding variety from the 'earthy' pear and the wood surrounding it.
